Xbox 360 Pro 20 GB – Refurbished

Well I bought this when it was still new and not refurbished. I was always scared of the red ring of death so i took extra care of my 360. I put it on a box since there was carpeting bought a hand held vacuum to take out all the dust and a cooler that did not take 360 power… It had it’s own power cord. A wireless adapter play and charge kits 3 mics ( which broke extremely fast and I take such good care of my things) two controllers also two cod waw discs because my 360 scratched one of my discs. add that up and look at the cost. 20 (cooler)+ 100 (adapter)+ 20 (play n charge kit)+ 120 (3 mics)+ 100 (to cod discs) + 120 (controllers which SUCK!) = 480+ 200 for the console = 680. As for the PS3 which in my opinion is a better system look at the difference in pricing. 300 (console) + 30 (wired headset)= 330. Thats all I’ve spent on my PS3 only which i got after my 360 broke. Also the PS3 uses 3rd party hard drives. You could upgrade to 500 GB for $50 if I wanted to. It comes with an over sized hard drive so why bother? Now here are the pros and cons of 360 and PS3.
XBOX 360
Pros:
Some exclusives
Less laggy online
Better dashboard
Avatars (which is just a copy of wii)
Cons:
Most games are rubbish
Worse graphics
No blue ray
Red ring of death
No built in wifi
No third party headsets
Most single player games aren’t even worth playing
Stupid xbox live market place
Breaks discs when moved while on
As you can see which has more?
PS3

Pros:
Blu ray
free online
better graphics
no Microsoft points just dollars
you can buy games with a psn card instead of a credit card
no rrod
1% failure rate!
controller batteries come rechargeable
Dual shock 3
easier PlayStation store
playstation home
Better exclusives
Cons:
YLOD
non user friendly dash board
PSN is a little laggy
Over all which is better?

Great console and Microsoft. I am not a complete Microsoft detractor, but have to say the companies overall response to the RROD issue is nothing short of pathetic. If more people would stop buying their consoles, perhaps the steep decline in sales would force an acceptable fix – not the present one: send your console back to Microsoft for “repair” (replacement). Add to that, the alleged replacement of products with equally defective to those returned, forcing the customer to send their system back to Microsoft once more, and you have a serious situation that does nothing to help the reputation of one of the worlds largest companies.
If you are one of the rare few who purchase a new XBOX 360, whether it be new, used, refurbished, etc. that do not have an issue with the console experiencing this extraordinarily frustrating death, then I wholeheartedly congratulate you. I consider my self a very casual gamer, running my system for a few hours here and there in a very well-ventilated and air-purified environment, and have melted it down in less than 2 months.
The Playstation 3 is certainly more expensive, but don’t buy in the hype about the superiority of the XBOX 360. They are both “next-gen” consoles, with a great game selection, sleek looks, great online capabilities, and HD graphics (although the Blu-Ray – as featured on the PS3 – is the high-definition DVD standard). The extra $100 you’ll spend on the PS3 will certainly be less than what you’ll have to spend to replace your XBOX 360 after it dies out of warranty.

It seems that Amazon has absolutely no idea, when this item will ship. When I ordered, it was listed as being in stock, the next day; the next day, it was listed as being in stock, with a processing time of 1 to 2 days; the following day, my game was shipped, and the xbox was listed as ‘shipping, when available*’; I then rechecked, online, to see that availability was listed as 1 to 2 months!
*I called Amazon, and was informed that my xbox would ship on the 1st of March. Seems, however, that I was being conned, since the followup email didn’t corroborate, that fact.
In short, it seems that Amazon is depending upon units going bad, being returned/refurbished, so they can snap them up & sell them. This is my first really bad experience, with Amazon. Hey, AMAZON! If you don’t have it, don’t list it!! Okay?

Dont buy this product. I bought this and paid for the two day shipping. Well the two day shipping took 6 days. Then when I finally got it one of the controllers was broken and the customer service department told me I would have to send the whole -box and everything it came with back and they would refund me my money and I would have to buy another one. You are much better off buying a new xbox 360 arcade or a playstation 3.
